Cookfest ni Erpats at Imus, Cavite

By nickahtolentino - Tuesday, March 05, 2019

The super north girl went to the super south side of Metro Manila. Nope, it’s sub-urban of Cavite. Imus, officially the City of Imus, or simply known as Imus City, is a 3rd component City in the province of Cavite, Philippines.

Firstly, Imus is a Tagalog word meaning “a piece of land cutting into the junction of two rivers.” The old location of the church is in Toclong where the confluence of Imus River and Julian River is located, forming a slice of land.

With the recent passage of the Gender and Development (GAD) Code of the City of Imus, the City Tourism and Development Office is also mandated to mainstream gender and development in its plans, programs, projects, services, and activities. Given this mandate, departments/units in the city government are expected to utilize their GAD budget for the conduct of activities and implementation of programs and projects on gender.

A cook fest for male employees, which is expected to not only increase awareness on the importance of male participation in household management among city hall employees, but to also contribute to the City’s tourism efforts of preserving local cuisine and cooking practices and traditions by highlighting culinary diversity in the city through the said cooking contest.
